The eight-eyed bats are minor antagonists from Disney's 2016 Moana. They live in Lalotai. As stated in their name, they have eight red eyes. They are black in color.
Role in the Film[]
During Gramma Tala's story, an eight-eyed bat is visible on a tapa cloth in the background.
An eight-eyed bat is briefly seen in the song You're Welcome. Maui rolls it into a ball and throws it into another monster's mouth like a basketball.
When Moana enters Lalotai, and escapes from the Frog monster, and is running, the eight-eyed bats fly over her, causing her to duck.

- A deleted scene from the movie shows that when Moana and Maui were entering Lalotai, they had to battle an eight-eyed bat.
- The Eight-eyed bats come from Hawaiian folklore surrounding Maui, who fought one to rescue his wife.
