Loa, Lua, and La'a appear in the Junior Novelization of Moana. They had gotten in a fight, then they thought, what would Moana do? They then drew a picture of Moana stopping a violent fight.
In the movie, Lua, Loa, and La'a appear dancing with Moana. They are not triplets, just friends.
